Privacy Policy

1. Summary

Lịch Việt Nam (LunarCalendar) is a privacy-focused Vietnamese lunar calendar app. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your personal data. Everything you create in the app stays on your device or in your own private iCloud — never on our servers.

2. What information the app uses

Calendar events you create

Personal events you add are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. They never leave your device unless you turn on iCloud sync (see below).

Apple Calendar access

If you grant permission, the app can read from and write to your Apple Calendar (via Apple's EventKit framework) so you can sync lunar events into the system Calendar. You can revoke this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

Location (Map tab)

If you grant permission, the app uses your device location to show where you are on the map and to help you add nearby places for your lunar events. Your location is used only on-device and is never transmitted to us or any third party. You can revoke this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.

Optional iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your events are saved to your own private CloudKit database (iCloud.com.github.icovn.LunarCalendar). This database is hosted by Apple and is accessible only to you, on devices signed into your Apple ID. We do not have access to it.

3. What the app does NOT do

• We do not use analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Segment).
• We do not use advertising SDKs or networks.
• We do not use crash reporting that transmits to a third party.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell or share your data with anyone — there is nothing to sell because we never receive it.

4. Built-in holidays data

The app bundles a static list of Vietnamese holidays (read-only) inside the app package. This list is shipped with the app and does not change at runtime. No network calls are made to load it.

5. Children's privacy

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app's features are appropriate for all ages.

6. Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
